AMAZING: Interior nightclub Electric

Lighting projectors and cables hang from the spindly branches of chunky black trees inside this penthouse bar and nightclub in Paris by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur.
Named Electric, the music venue features soundproofed music rooms, an outdoor terrace and a dance floor facing out over the city skyline.
Mathieu Lehanneur collaborated with architect Ana Moussinet to design the interior and added split levels to define different zones.
By day, sofas and trunk-shaped stools can be dotted around the space to form lounge seating areas. By night, these are stored away to open up a ballroom with a rippled DJ booth.

LOVELY: Puppy <3

Two unexpected romances blossom in a grey seaside town in emerging songstress Whinnie Williams’ video for “You Don’t Love Me,” a debut single that takes puppy love literally. Shot along the Hastings promenade on the south coast of England, director Robert Francis Müller follows Williams’ jelly-shoe clad feet around amusement arcades, junk yards and caravans in pursuit of a handsome French stranger’s lost dog—and his affections.

WOW: Electrolibrary connects a custom made paper book to your computer.

Created by Waldek Węgrzyn at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland, “Electrolibrary” is a project that connects a custom made paper book to the computer, so it can be used as an an interface. The book can be browsed as any other regular book but when connected to the computer via USB, by turning pages, you can navigate through the website, getting additional information, quotations, movies and animations appropriate to the currently open page.

WANT: Influenza Sorbet

Cayenne pepper, ginger, Maker’s Mark bourbon, honey, and cold- and flu-fighting orange and lemon juices. Cures whatever ails you. By Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams:

This is our flu-season fix. It’s proven to clear nasal passages, ease a sore throat, and soothe the body. It’s modeled on the home remedy my mother and grandmother made when anyone in the family was under the weather. Sniffles, aches, and fevers meant one thing: a mug of hot whiskey with honey and lemon juice, then straight to bed.

REMARKABLE: NoNoise at Selfridges

De-branded products, meditative art, silence rooms, a special performance of John Cage’s 4’33 seconds and absolutely no noise until the end of February at Selfridges.

As we become increasingly bombarded with information and stimulation, the world is becoming a noisier place. In an initiative that goes beyond retail, we invite you to celebrate the power of quiet, see the beauty in function and find calm among the crowds.

AMAZING: Hydro-Fold.

A self folding printer. Different patterns, grids and shapes can be printed on paper using this specific liquid. While drying, the paper contorts, folds and retracts around the printed and humid areas, transforming it self from a 2-dimensional paper sheet to a 3-dimensional structure where lines become edges and surfaces become volumes.

BEAUTIFUL: Understand Music.

Music is a pretty damn complex thing. This lovely animation is about the attempt to understand all the parts and bits of it. By Finally Studio.

FUN: Fasttrack. A Trampoline-Road.

An attempt to create intelligent infrastructure that is emotional and corresponds to the local context. It gives the user a different experience of moving and percieving the environment.

AWESOME: littleBits.

littleBits is a system of electronic modules that snap together with magnets. We built littleBits to break the boundaries between the products we consume and the things we make, and to make everyone into an inventor.

Each littleBit has one unique function (light, sound, sensors, buttons), and with different combinations you can make large circuits. littleBits allows you to create interactive projects without any background in engineering, programming or wiring, in a few seconds. It’s as easy as snapping LEGO bricks together. And the best part is, it’s open source!

This video was entirely made with littleBits, check out the individual projects at: littleBits.cc/community

We’ve been featured in the New York Times magazine, acquired by MoMA for the museum’s collection, called by Bloomberg TV “LEGO for the iPad generation“, won “Best of ToyFair 2012”, and we’re not tired one bit!
